Taxitronic, the leading manufacturer of taximeters in Spain, has reached an agreement with Itos Technology, a company specializing in mobility and payment methods, for the integration of the new card payment device, PIN Pad BP-50CL, with the Taxitronic Smart TD Android application for cab drivers, which is linked to the taximeters.
The incorporation of the BP-50CL will bring a number of benefits to the cab driver, streamlining the payment process and increasing the quality of customer service. Thus, you will be able to accept payments in a more convenient and reliable way by unifying the amount of the race and the payment; have faster transactions with Contactless cards; make transactions without errors, since it is not necessary to enter the amount; in addition to allowing the use of subscriber cards. On the other hand, thanks to the card payment system, the cab driver will be able to substantially reduce cash management, thus improving his security.
Currently, a pilot test is being carried out through Radio Teléfono Taxi de Madrid (RTTM), a cab drivers’ association that groups 4,000 cabs in the Community.
The new BP-50CL of the ITOS brand is characterized by its ‘mobility’, differentiating it from other devices on the market. The terminal also offers the following features:

- Battery efficient, going into off mode at the end of the operation.
- Bluetooth connection.
- Compatible with Android and IOS.
- It allows to accept payments with Contactless card, chip or magnetic stripe, being compatible with Visa, Mastercard and AMEX systems.
More than 15,000 cab drivers throughout Spain can immediately benefit from this agreement to streamline and unify card payments.
